Blooper in Testimonial..

Dear Friends,

Here is an advertising blooper in the testimonial from a customer. This is an important portion of the advertisement in which the body copy should be thoroughly checked or rather double checked before the release of advertisement.

The first line of the testimonial says: "I have dandruff in my hair" while actually  it should have been "I had dandruff in my hair" The brand name of the company also has been written as "NayuZen" while it should have been "NuZen" The half page colour advertisement is published in Sandesh - Ahmedabad.

Typical Cut and Paste Blooper.

Normally when an e-mailer comes we read the subject and then scroll down to read the matter related to it.

Here is a typical Cut and Paste Blooper. There were 3 e-mailers of Time Out Magazine with sender address as Time Out Delhi, Time Out Bengaluru and Time Out Mumbai, mentioning common subject "Time Out Gives You Atleast Ten Better Ways To Spend Your Fortnight".


While Time Out Mumbai and Bengaluru had Ten Better Ways in the subject as well as e-mailer content, Time Out Delhi had only Eight Better Ways :)

This is a typical cut and paste blooper which has gone in the subject line.

Be Careful while using Online Translations.

You might have come across and used many online translation websites. Many a times companies take help of these websites for language translations.

Sometimes these websites are very useful for immediate translations or options for a relevant word. But they should be carefully used only if you are fully aware of the language you are using.

It might backfire if you are not thorough with the language and might land you into a problem if you are using it for advertisements. You might be one of the advertisers on this blog under Advertising Bloopers if you are not careful.

One such example is here, which you can also try it at your end. Go to the Google translation page and type the words "Google does the best Gujarati Translation" and translate into Gujarati. What you get is an opposite meaning. "ગૂગલ શ્રેષ્ઠ ગુજરાતી અનુવાદ નથી" Using the same words, translation is correct for Hindi language. Try it out.

BUG Cup or BIG Cup???

Here is an ad which has been published with a small typo but that has totally changed the meaning.

The word "Big " has been typed as "Bug" by mistake.

This ad was carried in Ahmedabad Times on Sunday 7th August, 2011. The ad can be seen online on the link http://epaper.timesofindia.com
