Blooper in Intel Advertisement
Friends,
Here the advertisement has mistake in writing the Gujarati word "ya" This mistake of the letter ય "ya" and ચ "cha" is very common.
However here the entire word has also been spelled incorrectly. The letter even if it had been correctly put would have gone wrong.
કરીએ is the perfect word.
Many times words with errors like these, since it does not have any meaning, while reading the reader might lose his interest and the purpose of the advertisement might be lost.
Do send me your comments and keep reading the blog as always.
Regards
Nikhil

MY FM Blooper
Dear Friends,
Sometimes a small punctuation error could lead you to a trouble.
This error of punctuation of a comma has changed the meaning of the ad.
The comma should have been after the word ગોળી. This has changed the meaning of a sensitive copy in the headline.
Apart from that there is an error in the word સરહદ in the body copy which has been written in a wrong way in the headline as well as the copy.
Specifically when there is an ad like this which involves countries utmost care should be taken.
Do send in your comments.
Regards
Nikhil

Gender Related Error in Translation!!
Dear Friends,
After a long time I came across a good example of a blooper. Though I have been seeing many ads with small errors but have not been uploading them.
This headline relates to a girl introducing readers about the best "Paani Puri Maker" (normally they are males) and then she says its her mummy!
The same copy could have been written મળો શહેરની શ્રેષ્ઠ પાણીપૂરી બનાવનારને. મારી મમ્મી ને !
Friends please send in your comments about this blooper.
Regards
Nikhil

Translation Blooper !
Dear Friends,
Here is an ad which has serious mistake in the sub headline.
The line written, instead of selling the product, is actually cautioning people before using it.
It is confusing and the Gujarati has been written in a way that is actually harming the brand image of the company.
This could have been avoided if a localised agency in Gujarat would have made the same advertisement.
Please send in your comments.

Nikhil

Mistake in the Headline!
Dear Friends,
Here is an advertisement which has a mistake in the headline, which could confuse the reader. The word marked in the ad relates to a masculine gender, while actually the target group is females. The word should read :
ગોરા.
A very small typo can change the meaning of the headline and seriously affect response.
Please send in your comments.

Scheme Name and Typo Errors..
Here is an ad where there is an error in writing the name of the scheme "AMRAKUNJ" and also an error in an important word "Bungalow" The word is important since the ad is related to a real estate company.
The scheme name is written in a different manner in the heading and inside the body copy of the ad. Such typos should be avoided and the scheme names should be doubly checked before the release of the ad.

Continuing with my effort to track Advertising Bloopers and now Editorial Bloopers also, here is another mistake in the advertisement of Silk Mark Organisation of India.
The headline of the ad has 3 mistakes. It should have been written as "શુદ્ધ રેશમ ખરીદવા માટે" The headline has mistake in the first and third word, while the question mark put is not required.
Thanks once again. Do send in your comments.

Divya Bhaskar's Error in Photo AGAIN.
Dear Friends,
Here is a blooper related to the photo published along with the interview of two persons. If you know to read Gujarati you will enjoy reading it for the fun sake.
On a serious note, this is the second similar kind of a mistake which has happened in a short duration of time. (Refer to my earlier post related to Error in Photo Caption)
Interesting piece of news will definitely attract reader's attention but when there is a mistake, it directly impacts the brand of the newspaper. One can never be sure, sometimes it can lead to an issue.

Typo in the Headline Spoil the charm of the entire Ad.
Dear Friends,
Here is an advertisement published in Chitralekha - Gujarati with a Typo in the headline.
This ad relates to Ching's Secret advertisement which has been published in Gujarati Language. It has a nice headline which has a catchy message attracting the reader to read on the copy heavy advertisement, but the typo in the ad which leads to a word which has no meaning spoils the charm of the entire ad.
There is a word ફાળી written in the headline which has no contextual meaning. It should have been written ફાડી. Moreover there is also another typo in the word વાંચવામાં has the small dot missing on the word વા.
Apart from that there are many more similar mistakes in the body copy which would be difficult to mark them on the ad and write it here.
It is very much necessary that proof reading is done in the text based ads to maintain reader interest.

Nikhil

Error in Photo Caption!!
Dear Friends,
Here is an error in the photo caption by Divya Bhaskar's Navarang Supplement.
In an article related to the launch of a restaurant, there is a caption in the photo reading Sunil Gavaskar and Marshneil, while the celebrity couple in the photograph are different.
Sunil Gavaskar and Marshneil are not there in any other photos in the article though in fact they were present at the launch party. This article is related to a restaurant launch of Mohini Chabaria in Mumbai.

Masala Chai Tea ??
Dear Friends,
Happy New Year.
It is encouraging to see a lot of response to the posts on the blog on a regular basis from various countries like USA, UK, Germany apart from various states in India. Thanks a ton to all friends and blog readers for all the comments and encouragement.
Here is an ad where there is a mistake in naming the flavour of the tea. It has been written "Masala Chai Tea" It should have been either "Masala Chai" or "Masala Tea" since the English Translation of the word "Chai" is "Tea" so the same word is repeated.
The ad has been carried in Ahmedabad Mirror on 1st January 2012.
